With clean and simple styling, they are designed to make changing easy and to maintain their good looks wash after wash. All garments (including the wonderful merino wools) are machine-washable.

The designer Keely Deiniger has collected vintage linen treasures for the past 25 years with the aim of putting together a collection that combines the nostalgia of times gone by with the modernity of today. The Little Linens collection is a celebration of the craft of needlework. Each garment has been made using fine linen cloth. We have washed all our garments to remove shrinkage and make them wonderfully soft. The garments are all machine washable so they can be worn every day, not just for special occasions. The buttons are mother-of-pearl, drilled from real sea shells, as they would have been on garments made 100 years ago. The timeless designs are enriched with beautiful detailing, such as hand embroidery and crochet. The cut of the garments are simple and timeless – they are both classic and casual.

Similarly, opaque fabrics are often overlaid with transparent materials of almost gossamer-like delicacy, the subtlety and softness of which belie their longevity and ability to delight generations to come. It’s almost impossible to introduce a new Sarah Louise collection without mentioning the wealth of detail that manifests itself in the trims and tiny touches that combine to create garments that are nothing less than delightful. That’s particularly the case this season because, as noted earlier, there is much that glitters and gleams. The introduction of those extra facets means a great deal more hand work has gone into the creation of many garments but the results, we believe, fully justify the additional effort. Here then is a collection with a greater emphasis than ever on fashion but one that remains true to our overarching ethic of providing children with the very best quality, combined with the innovation and attention to detail that tells the discerning parent that it is Sarah Louise even without looking at the label.
